I've been to Dubai many times.  Summer weather is an abomination, but it's nice there in winter.  It is something of a luxury destination although construction standards aren't always what you would want.  Restaurants are excellent, and I've had some of the best Iranian food I've ever had there.  

Perhaps more importantly, were Trump to move there, the place is CRAWLING with Russian hot money.  He would be right in his element.  

It even has a couple of reasonably nice golf courses.  I've played at Dubai Creek, and it was fun.  I got paired with a couple of Indian expats who were in the banking/finance industry there.  Never met them prior to that day, but they used their memberships to bring me into the clubhouse afterwards and to get a discount on lunch and a club shirt for my father.  It was one of those fun, unexpected things where there was some real human warmth and conversation among total strangers (and from opposite sides of the planet).  That's what we CAN be as a species, if we work on ourselves a bit.
