We're doomed anyway. He has already said he will give himself a third term. Democracy will be brutally slaughtered. His enemies will be arrested. The Republicans will all fall immediately in line and we are done as a country. Sounds crazy, I know but this is what they are planning. If the Democrats lose to Trump a second time, the weakest candidate the Republicans have ever run for president, they are a pathetic mess.
Trump believes he is going to lose right now. If he actually wins, his fury is going to make west coast wildfires look like a children's play date. Revenge will be the central goal of his next term. All the supposed "guardrails" that were supposed to keep him from spinning out of control will be gone, he's removed them. He, Barr, and McConnell will unleash hell on this country. Blue states will be deemed enemies, all assistance to them cut off. Covid 19 will be permitted to rage with nothing to stop it. The middle class will be destroyed completely. The wacko white supremacist groups and militias will be elevated to his brown shirts. Probably the first public execution Trump will stage will be Gretchen Whitmer. He will prove his statement that he can kill someone in public and his followers will continue to follow him. Remember Trump means the things he says, even if later calling them jokes, he says what he is thinking aloud.
Anybody that watched the last debate was exposed to Trump's complete lack of empathy for his fellow human beings. This is a man that supported taking breast feeding babies from their mothers permanently. He does not feel anything for his fellow humans, including his own followers who he mocks and calls disgusting. If he wins, he will take it as his moment to proclaim himself emperor and permanently end all opposition with extreme prejudice. We are not dealing with any sort of normal human being here. People working inside his administration have warned us of this over and over.
The supposed "guardrails" were nothing but a speed bump to him in his first 4 years. He drove right over them. Ignoring all subpoenas, all requests to provide documents, requests for he or his minions to testify...all of that meant nothing to him. Now he has eliminated anybody that might contradict him and turned everything from the CDC, to the justice department, to intelligence services into propaganda outlets.
We are staring into the abyss and he is literally attempting to win this election through spreading lies and propaganda, throwing out votes, and raging about arresting the guy running against him. You can't discount the fact this is working on literally millions of Republican voters. The Trump supporters may make up a small percentage of the populace but they still number in the millions.
A percentage of those millions of Trump supporters are armed, violent, and are quite prepared to kill for their emperor. Our own law enforcement agencies have identified right wing terrorists as the primary threat to the safety and security of this nation by far. Left wing terrorists barely exist and account for a tiny percentage of violence in our nation.
These right wing nut jobs have all been activated and given the green light by Trump and they will not accept him losing...under any circumstance...not even if Trump is blown out and loses everything including Texas and Florida. Trump will not be willing to concede and even if he comes to accept his loss, he is then going to go on TV once he is no longer president and push these right wing nuts to start exacting revenge.
Sure, sane people like you and I would not do that, Ross, but a good percentage of Trump supporters are not sane and neither is he.
