Well, I think we have to accept that people quite often are walking contradictions. I believe many religious people that have voted for Trump know he is a horrible human being. However, this does not change the idea in their minds that Trump is doing god's work and therefore their work and so they accept him. They will continue to offer him all of their love and support as long as Trump at least pretends to be working to end abortion. In their eyes Trump can always be redeemed and god offers forgiveness to all. I know hilariously many religious people don't offer forgiveness to all, ha, but their argument for that is they are human and flawed and god will forgive them this as well. They will offer you forgiveness if you convert to their beliefs. 

It's a circular argument that allows them not to leave the circle. 

Sure, Trump probably has paid for many abortions but even if that came out remember...they will forgive him that because god will forgive him that as long as he gives lip service to ending abortions. So, even if someone asked that question and Trump said "I've probably paid for more abortions than any man alive!" all he would need to say next is "But I'm done with that. Now I will end abortion!" and they would cheer him as the second coming of Christ.

People close to Trump have already said Donny mocks the hell out of religious people behind closed doors. He thinks they are idiots and loves how easily he can win their support. Doesn't matter. They still think Trump is promoting judges that will end abortion so...they love Trump.
