Icon I fear....

we may never have such wacko, broad and unabashed humor like this ever again.  I think of so much comedy that came about in the 70s that would not be tolerated or allowed today - from Blazing Saddles to the Chevy Chase/Richard Pryor SNL skit to things like Dan Ackroyd referring to Jane Curtain as an "ignorant slut."

Think of it, that famous National Lampoon cover of the threat to kill the dog if the magazine was not bought would come with a brown sleeve covering it or not even published at all in today's market.

It greatly troubles me when comedians can't be comedians, or when those that make humorous observations of society can no longer do so.

And one thing that is especially troubling is when society is unable to tell the difference between comedy by comedians.

And what is really bizarre to me is how such graphic violence in the visual arts is allowed, especially the violence against women, while there is so much fear over words from the mouth.
