This horrid pile of shit has essentially so connected Russian interests with the Christian right that it is hard to tell Putin's asshole from the lips of evangelical Christians lips. Now if you read the article below note that the American woman they quote is from Houston, Texas...this should not shock you as we have just seen Texas jerk woman's rights off the table on the abortion issue. This is exactly the kind of garbage Komov uses to create chaos in the United States. Note as well they have a serious hard-on to go after the LGBT folks. Imagine Texas turning their new vigilante rules on them. Basically, evangelicals would then think Christ had returned they would have criminalized women and LGBT folks in all in one shot.

Religious Right’s Russian Ally Alexey Komov Praises Rise of Anti-Globalist Right-Wing Populists | Right Wing Watch

The World Congress of Families is a global network of anti-LGBTQ and anti-choice activists. Komov is WCF’s representative in Russia and a key connection between American religious conservatives and the Putin-allied billionaire Konstantin Malofeev, known as “God’s Oligarch” for his devotion to the Russian Orthodox Church. Turley called Komov “a mover and shaker in world conservatism.”

Komov has been the WCF’s representative in Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States (formed by 10 former Soviet Republics) for close to two decades. An influential man, he is deeply intertwined with various key figures within the Russian Orthodox Church.  Komov emailed Konstantin Malofeev, one of the Russian Orthodox oligarch who bankrolled the “Large Families” forum in Moscow.

As the founder of the investment company Marshall Capital, Malofeev heads the largest Orthodox charity in Russia, St. Basil the Great, which has a budget of over $40 million. Komov leads one of its charities.

Both Komov and Malofeev are intimately tied to various facets of Russian politics, and Malofeev has a hand in everything from media to technology to security.

Komov acknowledged that his “ideas” had won him the support of people with money and influence like Malofeev and Vladimir Yakunin, one of the Russian leaders sanctioned by the U.S. after Russia’s annexation of Crimea.

Komov and Malofeev have reportedly played a role in coordinating collaborations among European far-right groups.During the Obama administration, when the promotion of LGBTQ human rights was part U.S. foreign policy, Religious Right figures eagerly embraced Putin’s anti-gay policies and the portrayal of Russia as a savior of Christian civilization against a decadent, secularist West. Before the recent summit in Italy, WCF held its 2016, 2017, and 2018 summits in GeorgiaHungary, and Moldova, lending its support to pro-Putin and anti-European Union officials and factions in those countries.

Komov and his deep-pocketed friend Malofeev have also launched Tsargrada right-wing TV network modeled on Fox News.

2011 was also the year Jack Hannick, who was instrumental in launching Fox News and produced Sean Hannity, moved to Moscow to help the Kremlin set up a religious propaganda network. His financier Malofeev is instrumental in Putin’s war on Ukraine & US.
