One thing I greatly enjoy is reading things that really open my mind to things from a different perspective. There is an article in the new Sun magazine by a Black woman that decides to purchase a firearm. 

Oddly, the title of the article, "On White Violence, Black Survival and Learning to Shoot" really misled my initial thoughts on what the article would be about and almost caused me to not read it.  I am so glad I read the article.  The last part of the essay really broadened my perspective on violence in America with the author really making her point very well. 

I highly recommend the article (The Sun will allow visitors to read two complementary pieces).
