It's different now.
There's a dark undertow of propaganda and conspiracy theories that have swept across the country—dividing families and friendships, aided by a lying former president and a propaganda-fueled conservative media, they're poised to upend our democracy if left unchecked.
You nailed it right here. Previously here on the DBIS and among my friends/family political discussions were in the realm of politics - tempers may have risen - but it was different. Now the discussions start heated and go up from there - and the undercurrent - especially those around the prev President are much darker and violent. I've personally had family/friend relationships altered negatively.
