For years, I've always joked about how I was going to become a Catholic because Catholics get to do anything they want, then confess on a Sunday, and then start all over again. 

This is like the modern-day Republicans.  I have never seen a political party with such a chameleon-like nature when it comes to their philosophy and that is being kind.

These fuckers shift their views and beliefs by circumstance.  They really do. They have no consistent stances on anything that does not involve all things white, heterosexual, and Christian.  

And what really pisses me off is the attention span of all things America - from the media to plain ole people.  It is like there is no shelf life beyond one day when it comes to politics.

I don't know, maybe I am too old and too resistant to change, but I remember back the Clinton years and how back then the Republican mantra was "rule of law" and how Clinton was unfit for office because of his affairs. 

As for the media - what I'm seeing a bit too much of is the "both sides" bullshit in their reporting and especially when it comes to confronting conservatives and their shifting opinions on matters. 

It so dismays me that the collective we in America have become so entrenched with the vapid and meaningless while ignoring the important while allowing ignorance bordering on stupidity to rule the day.
