Finally got to see this and I highly recommend it.  It is on Peacock.

The dialog is so witty and some of the acting is so subtle and it is just a decent, feel-good holiday movie about a curmudgeonly boarding school history teacher who is required to stay behind to supervise students forced to remain at the school during Christmas break in 1970.

And actually, if you enjoyed Sideways with Paul Giamatti, then this is right up your alley because this is as if it is his character in that movie is re-visited after 20 years.

Sometimes, the humor in this is so deftly handled, especially when it comes to the difference between hateful humor and poignant human humor (for example, in the director's hands, even humor about Giamatti's lazy eye is touched upon, but not in a necessarily disrespectful way - it even becomes an ongoing running joke through the movie -  my point being, think of how body humor can so easily go both ways - from the purposely nasty diatribe to that of no harm intended and the no harm angle is how they deal with Giamatti's eyes).

Highly recommended.
