I don't have any clue about Dylan playing the song. Maybe David can shed some light on that. I don't think he recorded any of David's songs, maybe he played one live a few times. There are sites that track live setlists but I think you would have to have the year and then figure out when Dylan did his Amsterdam show.
On the two videos, I did not really track that down. That Larry Charles video popped up in my Youtube feed and I ended up watching it. When Charles made the comment about Dylan pulling out an ornate box full of scraps of paper and going through them with Dylan, it triggered the memory of the story David told. I searched Youtube for Dylan Baerwald and sure enough, that video of David telling that story popped up.
My favorite part of the video with David telling the story is the end of the video where David says "At least I think that's what he meant. Otherwise he's insane." because the look on David's face in that moment looks like he is really pondering if Bob is insane. It made me laugh even more this time because I feel like that is a normal face that I make these days, wondering if someone has gone insane...usually a member of the Republican party.
The most hilarious part of the Charles video is when he says that he was wearing his pajamas everywhere he went and so was dressed in his pajamas when he pitched the Dylan slapstick comedy idea...while Bob was dressed like a cowboy. It immediately painted this picture of a cowboy and a guy in his pajamas walking down the hall of some big company to pitch this idea. I mean, just a hilarious image, plus the idea of them walking into a room of people looking like that to pitch them and probably nobody blinked an eye at that.
