E I don't know if this is true or not because I can't remember where I read it, so take it with a grain of salt. I read that Kamala's team met with Tim and then afterward they were enjoying that meeting with him so much that they decided to ask him to go out for beers with them. They had such a good time with him when they went out for beers, because he was such a "people person" that they really wanted Harris to select him.
Like I said, don't know if it's true or not, but he does seem to, like you said, truly care for people.
