Alright David, I gotta say I'm really intrigued...Your favorite author is Montaigne and you sit around having coffee and discussing a religious sect of southern France that was put out of business sometime in the thirteenth century? My girlfriend has a masters degree in French literature and I have to admit I didn't think other folks (aside from French literature majors and the people who live with them and maybe some French people and other graduate student types) would just sit around chatting about this kind of stuff. You are shattering my glamorous image of the life of a rock'n'roll guy...you know like sitting around smoking dope with a bottle of Wild Turkey in one hand, guitar in your lap, with no other thought in your head except what the next chord is gonna be and what pair of supermodels are gonna be sprawled all over you and the mattress in the next room as soon as you put down the guitar. I'm having visions of Keith Richards pushing his glasses up on the bridge of his nose as he skims through Voltaire's "Lettres Philosophiques" so he and Ron Wood can discuss it over tea. Good God man!!! How can you be that well read and still have time for all the bad behavior that befits a rock'n'roll guy? Ok...so now I gotta ask cause my girl wants to know too...Do you have a favorite Montaigne essay?
