Well, so long as we're naming some people we'd love to hear on A Fine Mess, I keep hearing Hazel Dickens singing the duet part on Hellbound Train. And I keep hearing additional bluegrass folks at the end of Paddy Chayevsky...could you imagine Dave Grisman jamming along?
But aside from those random flights of fancy, I'd like to give my random vote for producer: Hal Willner. He's done so many things crossing so many different styles, and they all come out beautiful and interestingly different. If anyone out there's heard it, his production on "Weird Nightmare" (a tribute to Charles Mingus) is just about the most perfect production I've ever encountered.
Anyway, that's my 2 cents. Go get yourselves some Bazooka gum.
