I was the one who originally asked what David did for relaxation, and must say I was a bit bemused by his answer. What I really wanted to know was what he did for pleasure - what makes him laugh out loud (or in fact does he...?)- a lot of his lyrics are fairly bittersweet...which is what makes them so interesting (I like a twist in the tail).
I was interested to hear of your girlfriends' hobby Reg - your pursuits sound a little easier to satisfy on a regular basis though. True enjoyment for me is getting the kids to bed early and having time to myself (or with my husband) to listen to music or read a book. We are fortunate to live in a beautiful part of the world (known locally as the Rainbow Coast) - the scenery is wonderful - tall trees, big cliffs disappearing into the ocean and pleasant rural vistas. Going for an afternoon drive is good for the soul...
We have a small farm where we breed stud cattle, so another source of enjoyment is going out into the paddock and talking to the cows (I'm not really mad...) and watching their calves. I suspect my life is very different to a lot of the people on this board who are city-based.
What do you all do for fun?
