From Boomtown, "Rock for the Forgotten", an incredibly spooky
character driven vehicle, love the soapbox man,"He's the best there is in the hell fire biz, black belt in the art of babble.." god, I love those lyrics.
Bedtime Stories, "Liberty Lies" an absolute here, the decay
of America, the Venice backdrop, I remember feeling how in touch with the times this song seemed to be with the riots
media coverage etc. Favorite lyric, "Feels like I'm walking through Rome, tenements all torn apart, instead of Nero, we got Madonna, she's fiddling with herself..."
"Triage", "Secret Silken World" What a beautifully dark landscape painted here, must of been quite a ride. David does Brian Wilson, incredible Herb Alpert solo, the humour
that closes the song, All those hungry people, such a drag...
let's get something to eat", hilariously sarcastic.
"A Fine Mess", "Crash" something about the beautiful pensiveness so evident here, seems to me the story goes far beyond a car accident. Metaphors anyone?
