Dale,You are right, I am angry. We all live in the greatest country in the world. We have
the best Constitution, liberties and freedoms in the world, however we do not live like it. We are more concerned with cheap gas, cheap burgers and what ever other material item we can consume, instead of appreciating the Bill of Rights, quality human relationships, the arts and the wonderful natural resources this nation has to offer. Instead of honoring all of these as we should, as a nation we exploit all of them as much as we can. Our governmental leaders have miserably failed us. Shrub et al have led this country into a mess that will have unknown results for years to come. (Pick up a copy of Thomas Friedman's "From Beirut to Jerusalem" to get a better understanding about what may lie ahead in the Middle East for us - this book is ten years old, but is still timely). It is very troubling when at one time 70 per cent of the American people believed Iraq was behind 9/11. To me, it certainly shows that our current cynical governmental leaders led an easily manipulative country astray in a terrible manner. And now we find our young people in Iraq dying in place of the decision-makers. Why is it that it always is those who will not be called upon to fight, are always the ones most gung ho for a fight?I do not know what is worse - the practice of so many Americans gleefully staying ignorant about those in power in this country or a government that so readily uses the blind faith of its citizens against them. Thanks for listening…
