I thought I would step in here and shed a little light on Ian and his generosity here.
Several months back I was the roving reporter that went to all of David's shows(Steamboat in Austin) and
gave weekly reports. I posted a message up here saying that I had bought Will's CD Scenes from
Nowhere. A great CD I might add. Ian (Kravitz) came all the way down from Madison by way of Dallas
to see David and Will. I had bought him a copy and told him to bring his $13.00 because I bought him
a copy. When I met up with him he said he had a copy of AFM that he wanted to give me so I'm thinking
hey Ian you made me a copy remember (Copying Network)? He says no no this is an original and I brought
it down for you for what you have done for the site. This was the week after one had sold for $250 on
Ebay. Needless to say I was floored and thought I found the Holy Grail. At one of the shows DaveTV
brought in a production crew and they taped 2 of the shows. (David when he was rehersing would play 2
shows. One at like 6:00 and the other at 8:00 or so) Not mini-cams I'm talking the big cameras
and lots of them and also plugged into the sound board. In other words a professional production.
I knew through conversations that DaveTV really wanted a copy of AFM and Ian seemed open to trading
for the show when I posed it to him. I hope the deal works out because it would be a great show probably
the best so far. These were two acts of generosity with AFM and for the purpose of promoting David's music.
Ian had told me he got spanked pretty hard for putting that stuff on E-Bay and this was sort of his way
of rectifying the situation. Dale if it were me I would not have posted up on this site you were selling
Will's CD on Ebay. I probably would have offered it at cost to whomever wanted it on this site. Somebody
would have really appreciated it. What did you think of "Last Faithful Lover?". Great version. Anyway
It's nice be involved with a generous musician like David who does not have a problem with bootlegging.
Ian my vote would be to hold the final one for another great trade. Your last 2 have paid dividends
for everyone on this site
