Do I "know" Pierre?   OH ...god that's nearly funny.  He is a friend of mine, and was also taught me in a master class of his years ago.  We still keep in touch, and he is not only probably one of the BEST guitarists alive, but a wonderful person.  A MAJOR inspiration in my life and music.   Call me, and we can chat about this at length; I have lots of "Pierre" stories.  I have gotten somewhat away from that open tuning style of playing, cause I am too undisciplined, but it has helped me in major ways.

Once after a concert in Tennessee, we were sharing some wine, and one of our friends brought in a new guitar he wanted Pierre to check out, but it was tuned in standard tuning.  I joked, and said something like, "Oh Bensusan, he won't be able to play it..he only knows DADGAD tuning"...Pierre got incensed and actually took me seriously, and said something like "Oh yeah...give me that thing..I'll show you..etc.."

His birthday is coming up, I always send him a card.  Great guy...master musician/composer.   Oct 31.
