Interesting news. This is apparently a pretty rigorous study with encouraging results for MS patients. I am very interested in cannibinoids for pain treatment, but research trials are tough to get off the ground because the DEA spends most of it's effort trying to eradicate this substance from the face of the earth. One major barrier for the general patient population, is that many folks who have been given either oral THC or smoked...do NOT like the psychomimetic effects, and I think that is entirely understandable..being stoned is not for everybody. But...is there any way to "engineer" the analgesic, and anti-nauseant effects so as to separate them from the intoxication effect? I wonder if the marijuana botanists, who seem to know so much about crossing one strain with another etc..can be involved in such venture. So far, the equianalgesic effect of marijuana is around one or two Percocet (that would be 5 to 10mg of oxycodone; helpful, but not earth shattering).
