"Welcome To The Boomtown" was a cynical hit single in 1986 from the same dark and deep sensibility that Robbie Robertson and Don Henley employ. This zeitgeist record in terms of hard-living urbanites was artfully well-produced with great musicians providing hooks and texture throughout. David Baerwald and David Rickets split up after this sole release, but would continue to go on to solo careers, and production and studio work with Sheryl Crow, Meredith Brooks, and even Robbie Robertson. Boomtown was justifiably called a masterpiece at that time and it still stands up today both musically and lyrically. Back in print on vinyl and sounding better than ever.
