A week or two ago the new CMJ New Music Monthly came and the next to last track was "Georgia" by Audra Kubat (from Million Year Old Sand). This song knocked my socks off. It was haunting, driven and caused me to listen to it again and again. Then I read that her new cd would come out on Dec 2. In our town I went to Best Buy, Barnes and Noble and Borders. Not one place carried it. In another town I went to an independent record seller who didn't have it, but who would order it. I said no thanks and ended up ordering her cd off the record companies website. This woman has a remarkable voice and you can find all the Justin Timberlake and cutie of the month cd but not a talented artist. What crap.But if you want to hear this song in its entirety you can go to http://www.timesbeachrecords.com and click on her name and it will play. It's a beautiful song about a drug addicted "Georgia"....or so I surmise as such......The new Azure Ray is pretty good too.....
