So here in Illinois, there were at least 7 Republican candidates running for the Senate position. Once Ryan, the winner of the primary, dropped out due to the fact that he asked his wife (Jeri Ryan , or 7 of 9 to you geeks out there) if she wanted to go to a sex club with him. The republicans needed a candidate .

The Illinois Republican party has been unable to offer up anyone they think can even challenge Dem. Barack Obama. Going so far as to seek Mike Ditka to run. (Oh that would have been brilliant)

So Now they have settled on Maryland conservative Alan Keyes as their man.

Keyes once said this of Hillary Clinton and her run for the NY senate seat,  "I deeply resent the destruction of federalism represented by Hillary Clinton's willingness to go into a state she doesn't even live in and pretend to represent people there, so I certainly wouldn't imitate it."

I guess the resentment is not so deep as to keep him from doing the same thing.
