Like I said before:

>> So, what I am saying is absolutely rooted in sound psychological theory

Ian:

One of my most trusted reference books is called THE OXFORD COMPANION TO THE MIND, which is edited by Richard L. Gregory. This is a college textbook used in quite a few psychology courses around the world.

Another trusted reference book of mine is the DICTIONARY OF THEORIES, which contains a comprehensive listing of thousands of theories in a number of disciplines.

As it relates to BELIEF, the following are pages and subjects from THE OXFORD COMPANION TO THE MIND that I often refer to here online. So don't tell me that I don't know what I am talking about or haven't done my homework, because allegations to that effect are getting more than a little stale. But the fact that my detractors are running out of sensible arguments is good news indeed.

According to THE OXFORD COMPANION TO THE MIND, subjects related to belief are found on the following pages:

01) Attention (pg. 59)

02) Behavior Modification / Behavior Therapy (pg. 75)

03) Belief System (pg. 823)

04) Brain Manipulation (pg. 113)

05) Children’s Understanding (pg. 139)

06) Conditioning (pg. 159)

07) Consciousness (pg. 160)

08) Illusion (pg. 337)

09) Imprinting (pg. 355)

10) Intelligence (pg. 375)

11) Logic (pg. 839)

12) Myopia (pg. 507)

13) Perception (pg. 131 & 598)

14) Quantifying Judgments (pg. 667-70)

15) Reality (pg. 845)

16) Reasoning – Development In Children (pg. 672 & 845-46)

17) Reinforcement (pg. 677)

18) Religion (pg. 677)

19) Repetition (pgs. 679-80)

20) Spiritualism (pg. 739)

21) Symbols (Archetypes) (pg. 763)

22) Theology and Mind-Brain Identity (pg. 771)

Perhaps the thing that is upsetting to you is the fact that I do know exactly what I am talking about, however --- why is your denial or lack of understanding of these subjects somehow my problem or fault?!? Pick up a book and learn --- it's easy, virtually anyone can do it!

And as far as television goes, currently there is one primetime show that I go out of my way to watch, which I have already stated is 24. Also, the only other programs that I have bothered to go out and buy are the series DVD box sets of episodes of STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION and THE X-FILES. That is about it. I don't watch much television at all.

I READ BOOKS . . . books of all kinds. Everything from all the religions of the world, to psychology and sociology, and quantum physics is a favorite topic, of which I have read numerous books. I have several thousand books in my house, and I would much rather read than watch some mindless garbage on television. The amount of hours I watch TV in a week could easily fit on one hand.

Lastly, your list of publications that you read are mostly all mainstream big corporation publications, and because of that, you are getting what THEY want you to have, and NOT what you want to read.

With news filtering that is now available on the web, you should be using a filter to read what you are interested in, and discard all of the rest. I haven't watched the nightly news on TV for several years now. I also do not listen to talk radio here locally. I get the information I want, and by doing that, I am not victimized by the fear that is continiously peddled by the multi-national media corporations.

If you did the same, perhaps one day we could have an intelligent conversation. But, I seriously doubt that you would ever do the intelligent thing so long as your mind is firmly in the grip of big media.

> I am a pacifist through and through

That's right, Ian. Why is this such a surprise?

I support peace over war, and I extend that to never having seen a war movie in my entire life, which I absolutely abhor. I do NOT support the war on drugs, or the war on terrorism, or the war for anything else.

I believe Ghandi was a hero and BU$H is an asshole.

> How do you know they were separate interviews?

Re: Michael Moore - BOWLING FOR COLUMBINE

I know they were seperate interviews because they were on three seperate programs, with three seperate hosts who conducted the interviews, and they were on three different networks. Come on, Ian, this is completely silly. This is not a serious question from an adult.

> AND WHAT IS UP WITH ALL THE CAPS?

Immediately to the left of the A key and the Z key, are two keys marked SHIFT and CAPS LOCK. Once again, a pretty silly question. Next you will be asking me where the ANY key is, correct?

Peace and Prayers (and NOT War and Fear),
