Re the use of technology will considerably cut down on the loss of American soldies... wait a sec, it's not just America fighting, the English are there as well as our Aussies - and we've all lost men.

I know other nations are involved Jodi and I feel bad that they too are sacrificing lives in this conflict. American politicians tend to look only at American losses though, that is their bottom line number.

We've recently had our elections here as Kathryn mentioned in an earlier post, our opposition leaders desire was to bring our troops home - before Christmas. If the alliances break down, then America may just require more men. Possibilty.

It is certainly possible and in reality more troops on the ground in Iraq seems to be the consensus but the Bush administration seems to feel no need to send more. That could change now that they no longer have to worry about getting reelected. This is America's fight and the major burdon is on our country. The Bush administration has preached a doctrine of preemption and we don't have the manpower to enforce that doctrine. You are correct that a worldwide battle against terrorists needs to have the support of the whole world. That is on the Bush administrations shoulders now. What will they do? I don't know but we have sold bunker busters to Israel to use against Iran so I think we plan on using some serious force in this fight, not in the form of manpower.
