too cont...Too, you should consider, that in the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus
is setting the standard for what God considers righteousness, the
standard men will be judged against at the last judgement
commonly known as the Great White Throne judgment where Jesus
will preside.
The question of the accuracy of the Jesus' depiction in the scripture
is actually the crux of this entire discussion you put forward.
Again and again, the scripture testifies that: ": The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a
furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them, O
LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.", "(from the Sermon itself Jesus said:)
18: For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or
one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.",
(the law and the prophet's being old testament scripture), "15": And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures,
which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith
which is in Christ Jesus. "16": All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable
for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in
righteousness: "17": That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished
unto all good works. "God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time
past unto the fathers by the prophets,...", "...the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy
men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost", "15": Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that
needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."6": Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no
man cometh unto the Father, but by me. "17": Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. "18: For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the
prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God
shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: 19: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of
this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life,
and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in
this book."
- from the last chapter of Revelation.
"23": Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of
incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for
ever.
Now, if you wish to doubt that the creator of all you know, or can
imagine, is incapable of preserving his present chosen method of
revelation of himself, the written word, to his creatures who can
read; he gave you the free will to do so. No question! Reject away.Consider too Jesus speaking in the gospel of John, ch20 to
Thomas(do note the conclusion(vs 29)):18: Mary Magdalene came and told the disciples that she had seen
the Lord, and that he had spoken these things unto her. 19: Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week,
when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for
fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto
them, Peace be unto you. 20: And when he had so said, he shewed unto them his hands and
his side. Then were the disciples glad, when they saw the Lord. 24: But Thomas, one of the twelve, called Didymus, was not with
them when Jesus came. 25: The other disciples therefore said unto him, We have seen the
Lord. But he said unto them, Except I shall see in his hands the
print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and
thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe. 26: And after eight days again his disciples were within, and
Thomas with them: then came Jesus, the doors being shut, and
stood in the midst, and said, Peace be unto you. 27: Then saith he to Thomas, reach hither thy finger, and behold
my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side:
and be not faithless, but believing. 28: And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my
God. 29: Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me,
thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet
have believed. 30: And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his
disciples, which are not written in this book: 31: But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the
Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life
through his name.
