It came out around the same time as Powell, Lake and Emerson (Touch and Go) - [I didn't know what or who the hell Patek Phillippe was-at the time] - but the first time I heard David & David it was a call that was almost like a siren - in a way, David Ricketts' performance - sustain - trilll - all the vapid hair bands that weren't talking bout love - well, I picked up that song like a starved dog on an elusive scent - and then there was that other Dave who showed me, slowly, methodically and melodically (even after repeated listening) - a handful of characters who were somewhat fuct - who was an inclusive sorta guy at the end of it all ...
Part of me will always be a dewy eyed dragon slayer who comes to this place.
