Well, I think it's an interesting thing because we're at point in our history where a Constitutional crisis is upon us. The Bush administration has intentionally blown to bits the system of checks and balances that was intended to be the foundation of this particular form of democracy we practice here in United States.
The horrifically slow response from the other branches of our government to the concentration of powers in the executive branch seems to be directly related to the fact that the Republican party has been running the whole show. The obvious issue with that is that the Republican party has been hijacked by a group of criminals with an agenda and it's agenda that does not benefit anyone but a core group of outrageously wealthy industrialists.
It's an unfortunate reality that it takes a crisis to motivate a majority of Americans to finally do something. Well that crisis is here and the majority of Americans seem to be waking up to the fact that...well...they've been had. Even Christian right wingers are starting to catch on to the fact that Bushco has about as much interest in Christian "values" as did another famous Christian leader, who I'll quote here:
"My feelings as a Christian points me to my Lord and Savior as a fighter."
"To-day, after two thousand years, with deepest emotion I recognize more profoundly than ever before the fact that it was for this that He had to shed His blood upon the Cross. As a Christian I have no duty to allow my self to be cheated, but I have the duty to be a fighter for truth and justice… And if there is anything which could demonstrate that we are acting rightly it is the distress that daily grows. For as a Christian I have also a duty to my own people." –Adolf Hitler, in a speech on 12 April 1922
and if you just change the word Jew in this quote to say one of Dubya's bland favorites like "evil-doers" or whatever...
“Hence today I believe that I am acting in accordance with the will of the Almighty Creator: by defending myself against the Jew, I am fighting for the work of the Lord.” –Adolf Hitler
that could be Bushie himself saying that.
Sure Hitler was ramping up for support to slaughter Jews and Bush is ramping up for slaughtering...well...I guess...anyone Cheney decides to slaughter but I suppose it'll be Iranians next since we're already doing a heck of a job slaughtering folks in Iraq. Anyway, as you can see it's always a good idea to build support for killing large numbers of people by invoking God and working up everybody you can into some sort of patriotic froth. Since Bushie's grandpa was the director of a bank that helped wash and move money for a big supporter of the Nazi's and ol' Adolf it's sort of no surprise Dubya is taking a page or two from his book.
Now I know I've strayed out into verboten territory here, making a Nazi reference in a post about Bush but I hope anyone reading this at least evaluates the content of what I said based upon the fact that I didn't call Bush a Nazi. I just pointed out the fact that Hitler was a Christian and used this to forward a dubious agenda, which is in fact true, and how this mirrors the fact that Bush used the claim that he was a Christian to get elected and forward his dubious agenda. You can check the ties between ol' Prescott Bush and the Nazis yourself. Hey, I don't make this stuff up, it is what it is.
So enough about that...the point is Bush is tanking because it's been made plainly obvious he and his crew have been quite dishonest with us. Fitz is working up his case and it's an ugly thing for Bush. Plus there is quite a movement now to evaluate all of the 9/11 evidence for real because it has come to light that the "official story" stinks to the high heavens and the majority of Americans now believe there were members of our own government involved in the 9/11 attack/coup d'etat. There seems to no longer be any doubt the towers were brought down by controlled demolition as was building 7 which was not even hit by a plane and no large aircraft ever slammed into the Pentagon.
So, in the public's view...umm...Bush and his pals are major league liars.
