The American memory is getting shorter and shorter. Just as much of the U.S. of A-holes has forgotten "Mission Accomplished", they've also forgotten "Shock & Awe", that little exercise, to somewhat misquote you, of "bombing Baghdad into the stone age".They've forgotten that the PNAC wrote that a "catalyzing event similar to a modern-day Pearl Harbor" was necessary to further their objectives. They've forgotten that Bush was elected due to the mishandling of votes in a state led by a man named Bush. They've forgotten that they were calling for the heads of anyone who spoke against this corrupt regime immediately following 911.They've forgotten that this horse-shit president claims to follow a higher calling, although he clearly exhibits no tendencies of anyone I would call a Christian. They've forgotten that this horse-shit president dodged the draft, dodged his draft-dodging, got busted for DUI and covered it up, got busted (allegedly) for coke possession and covered it up (allegedly). For those of you wishing to bring up Dan Rather and CBS, please go fuck yourselves and find 1 person who will admit to serving with GWB during the time in question. It hasn't happened yet. They've forgotten that no-bid contracts were supplied to cronies of the administration, and then mishandled with precious little recourse against them. And then, of course, some of those contracts were renewed. They've forgotten that jobs formerly done by the military are now being done by private companies, many of them cronies of the administration, at significantly higher expense. They've forgotten that one of the most despicable of the architects of the Iraq war then went on to head the World Bank, itself (arguably) a despicable arm of the cronies of the administration. They've forgotten that we set up most of the despots and tyrants in the world that we now oppose. They've forgotten that they voted for the mf's that set up those despots and tyrants. They've forgotten that Congress and the President work for each citizen of this country. They've forgotten that these are just men and women who are power hungry and really don't know any better than anyone else what's best for this country. What they don't forget is Monica, Whitewater, and other non-crimes by Clinton. Yet they forget his (allegedly) balanced budgets, increase in social programs, and exceptional foreign relations skills. Then again, any foreign relations skill seem exceptional when compared to "Yo, Blair" spoken through a mouthful of dinner roll.
I'm done ranting. Bless you, DB, for saying what you mean. If you could, when you have time....put it to music. Some of us really want to hear it. (less the insults flung at Kev)PJ
