not sure where in the thread to ease this in....

As far as “various artists” soundtracks go, and since this does not include scores, …

along with the others already mentioned, a minor dusting of favorites ~ not top shelf  audiophile intellectualism as is the norm @ the dbis, but down here on the lower rungs where some of us

float with the evil clown & others swim away! with the clownfish:

• Magnolia (come on)

• Say Anything (for the timeframe)

• Singles (for the timeframe)

• Ghost Dog (a little goes a long way in this genre)

• Into the Wild (will no doubt kick ass, but the damn flick ain’t playin here yet!)

• Ray (might not fit the criteria, just as Dead Man, Obscured By Clouds, and others don’t)

• The Majestic (Boogie Woogie piano, what’s not to dig about that?)

• A Knight’s Tale (just because it took cajones….)

• Grosse Pointe Blank (a particular kind of party music)

• Empire Records (a different particular kind of party music)

• Almost Famous (Cameron Crowe has a good ear; the soundtrack was shorted)

• Dazed & Confused (yet another different kind of party music)

• Easy Rider (yet another party….)

• City Of Angels (for the softer solemn moment)

• Pump up the Volume (is an honorable mention; personal memorabilia)

• Reservoir Dogs (is pretty cool, songs and dialogue both)

• TRIAGE (the soundtrack to life in these disintegrated states)

When the Wind Blows (this is worth a listen….

…not sure if the disc has the entire lineup the LP & cassette had:

When the Wind Blows ~ David Bowie

Facts and Figures ~ Hugh Cornwell

The Brazilian ~ Genesis

What Have They Done ~ Squeeze

The Shuffle ~ Paul Hardcastle

Towers Of Faith and the rest ~ Roger Waters & the Bleeding Hearts Band)

Perhaps none, …the absolute best ever….
