You guys are on to something but you're not there yet.  This war and its heinous tentacles may be the stimulus for these spontaneous bursts of emotion but it/they are not the whole hydra-headed octopus.

In our contemporary world, we are "programmed" to use our left brain; sometimes it works with the right in concert but more often the two sides fight their own difficult battles.  And not to be sexist (honestly), women generally have higher right brain function and that's one reason for our "emotionalism."  It's also why when you have them, these responses freak you out marginally more.

Veering away from the scientific and rational, somehow the current climate is forcing us deeper into our essential, existential if you will, souls.  The only possible response is  to emotionally connect not only with ourselves but with the people in our lives who truly matter.  And with strangers, too.

David, your right brain is both of your blessing and your curse.   Your very own Israel/Palestine.  India/Pakistan.  USA/everyone else.  You don't have to be your own peacekeeper; go to the UN and do it with the music of the spheres.
