I thank you for sharing your personal words with us.

Over the past couple of years I have resumed reading books like never before. These books have ranged from the environment, our eating habits, politics, civil rights, war, crime, human nature and the human spirit.

Sadly, with seeking knowledge it appears our current human condition is severly lacking in many ways. We are turning the Earth into a place that will be hostile to our offspring, we are losing touch with the true quality of life and all of popular culture seems to more and more resemble a Jerry Bruckenheimer (sp) movie.

All of this fills me with despair and anger and grave disappointment in what is supposed to be the finest country and philosophy of democracy on this planet. As a country, we certainly are failing what we are supposed to be in so many ways and the gravest concern I have is that, except for the individual, I do not see how it is going to get any better in the future.

So, dearest David, you are certainly not alone in all of this,
