Cheers to you! The politics that make The Clash somehow "better" than (insert your preferred prog or bluegrass or jazz or whatever here) troubles me too. I know WHY punk happened, but that doesn't make most of actually any better as music.
(Of course, like any other genre, there's some good stuff to be found).
And Brad Delp's voice was the main attraction of Boston.
