Icon Heathcliff, Dr. Capybara, Jared, and Ivanka

Heathcliff, I can't root for Trump's success, he must fail, miserably. The United States must learn from this debacle, and though I obviously don't want us bumbling into a nuclear confrontation with North Korea, I really think this odious man and all that he represents, must be exposed, discredited, and thoroughly vanquished. We can't go down this road again. Trump's election was the ultimate example of rewarding bad behavior. To me, the creepy cult of personality that surrounds him is more disturbing than the man himself. If Trump asked this armed group to take to the streets to defend him, I think many, many would, and we'd be faced with an insurrection unlike anything since the Civil War. This "tribe" feels such an emotional bond with Trump that they can't be argued out of their support for him. For some of his most devoted followers, their identity is somehow wrapped up in his. Thank you internet and Fox News for allowing these folks to find each other!

I don't share Dr. Capybara's optimism about a quick and willing exit. And yes, I'd gladly take the arch conservative, fundamentalist Christian Mike Pence over Trump. And I never, ever thought I'd admit to that!

I wonder what Jared and Ivanka say in their private moments? They know that the president probably has another decade or so to live. Do they worry for their future, their business ventures, their reputations and social standing, and that of their children? Do they fear prosecution? Can they not hear the snickers that will hound them: "Thanks for being such a moderating influence, guys!", "Great job with establishing Middle East Peace, Jared!", "You really stuck up for Planned Parenthood, Ivanka!"

And where are the right-leaning folks who used to post here? What are you guys thinking? Let's be honest!
