However, I would try not to let people like your sister slip away and cut them out of your life.

I understand entirely the difficulty in communicating with people like this and how hard it is to get through and yes, forget about doing it through the internet and social media because these methods are just a cesspool of ignorance and nonsense that is nearly impossible to break through.

For me, personally, that last presidential election cycle was a fucking nightmare because I could not in good conscience support either candidate...pretty much all kinds of people "unfriended" me or told me where I could go.

Oh well, this is what can happen but I will stand by the things I say and more importantly...support them with facts. Fair enough not to like me but if you don't like the facts that's tough cookies.

One major issue we have right now is that people have elevated beliefs to be on the same level as facts...they are not...and so this is why we were able as a country to elect a serial liar like Donald Trump.

Does not matter that he lies as much as he breathes because if people hold his lie as a "belief" well, then for them it is the equivalent of a fact.

Yes, I know that makes no sense...but that's where we are at. This is why he can call factual reporting "fake news" because if people don't believe the fact then it has no value to them...does not matter that it is a fact.

Is this stupid? You bet but this is the tide we are fighting.

I'll give you a giant example that is being used against us, and when I say us I mean us as a country, right now...this immigration nonsense.

The facts state that for many years now there are more immigrants leaving the country, particularly over the southern border we hear so much about, than are crossing it trying to come here.

If you listen to a liar like Donald Trump though you would think that illegal immigrants are flooding our country. They are not. Trump did not start this lie, he just took advantage of it. It's a lie they have been selling for years even though throughout Obama's administration more immigrants were leaving the country than were entering it.

Also Trump makes out all of these immigrants to be mostly criminals, rapists, and the worst of the worst. They are not. They are mostly families fleeing horrible situations in their countries and trying to make a better life for their children...but to believers of a liar like Trump, they are criminals the second they think about coming here.

That's how scum like Jeff Sessions wants to sell this. Tell the public that as they round up mothers and children, separate them, that they are just "jailing criminals" whose actual only crime was they did not want to continue to suffer in the countries they are trying to escape.

Now, sadly, to some portion of our population...and I truly hope it is a small portion...that means that these babies and children deserve to be in a jail. Locked up in a fenced in area and separated from their families because...well...these are all criminals no matter their age.

They were coming here looking to make a better life for their babies and instead...we took their children away from them and we just tell them "That's what you deserve, criminal!"

And Trump lies about whose policy this is...it's all his and never existed until he and scum like Sessions and Miller put it place. It could end immediately but they won't end it because they like the idea of taking babies from their families as a "deterrent."

So, doctors and experts say this separation from their families does "irreparable damage" to these children and is clearly a human rights violation of epic proportions. I guess we shall see if maybe this pushes Trump supporters to say enough is enough.
