Well, what I would take out of all that is this is not an accident, it has been ongoing for years, it is well funded, they have a strong media voice that they own (Washington Times, FOX News, etc), and they are now so plugged into the Republicans and Christian right that it is hard to tell where one begins and the other ends.
When people ask "How did this happen?" this is how it happened. Not in the blink of an eye and not just through Donald Trump becoming president...it was years and a lot of money in the making. This is well organized and has roped in so many people that the bad news is this...they estimate if we can unravel this it is a 10 to 20 year process to do so.
I did not really say this in my above posts but the reason the behavior of people that get into all this right wing insanity seems so cult like is because the people that have organized this for decades are using cult indoctrination tactics. They know them and are good at them.
Basically, they have walked these people up a ladder into the cult over the years. From Tea Party propaganda, to Freedom Caucus propaganda, to Trump propaganda...each another step deeper into the cult.
They easily identified that two groups they had ease of access to that were perfect targets for indoctrination were religious people and gun owners. Hence, they plugged right into the Christian right and the NRA crowd. These are heavily Republican voters, the Republicans can't afford to lose a single vote, so they have to go for the ride. Roll in the racists, another Republican stronghold group and promoting their madness also makes sense for Republicans. Not hard to appeal to a racist they are also easy to indoctrinate. The promise of the rise of a theocracy here in the US, Texas is part of the way there, where you can punish those that do not share your religious beliefs has a strong pull. The religious right wants this badly.
Not every player's motive is the same but we have motive:
Power, money, influence, shared interests, destruction of American Democracy.
Here's the really hard part. It is difficult through the mainstream media to address this because they don't want to be seen as attacking religious people and gun owners. So, they have to tiptoe around this and can't go right at it. They can state the numbers, showing how religious people were strongly pulled into the Trump cult. We know why Trump spewed the propaganda he did because Putin's people had already been selling it for years to the Christian right. So hence Trump and Putin aligned. Trump did not invent the messaging he used what was handed to him.
This is not all the Russians either. Sean Moon setting up shop in Texas is to be expected. Texas is now a hotspot for continuing the "brainwashing" of the Right. This guy is not only tapping into the religious side, but the gun owners as well. He wears a crown made of bullets while preaching his madness. You can't make this shit up. Moon is part of the long term Korean attempt to manipulate the Right. However, his interests and strategies align perfectly with Putin's and so even if they are not working together, what they are doing is symbiotic. Hey, they own the Washington Times and Newsweek.
Same with the National Justice Party loons. Once you see that they are all working toward chaos in the United States it is clear how their interests are the same even if they are not always saying the same thing.
Foreign money is flowing into these groups and into Republican accounts. So, where is their loyalty? With the country or with the cash? Moscow Mitch McConnell would tell you "With the cash, dummy!"
The actions of guys like Trump (who's greed motivation is off the charts), Rudy, Abbott, DeSantis, Gaetz, Jordan, Tucker Carlson, Sean Hannity, name your player, seem a lot less "crazy" and a lot more intentional once you look at all the pieces on the board and see how they have been moving.
Also you can see the goal, which is for the United States to descend into total chaos. Which Putin told us was the goal with the election of Trump before Trump was elected...and Republican voters were ready and aligned with Putin on that when the moment came.
Throw the grenade into American democracy.
The reason this looks like a cult is because it is so heavily weighted toward religious people. They are heavily susceptible to cult indoctrination tactics and it has worked like a charm. It is hard to back them out of it because they think they are punishing "baby killers" and deviants...which is what anybody not "with them" is seen as.
Same with gun cults and racist cults. Easy sell to them. They are coming for your guns, the immigrants/brown people are pouring in.
This rhetoric is now all Republicans will spew. They are elevating the January 6th rioters to heroes now. Their new rally is already planned in Washington.
There are Republicans that don't want to go along with this but they will only say so off the record. They fear their own members and voters. So, they sit silent, holding on, hoping the fever breaks. It is not enough to do that. They need to break away and speak up. I know I sound like a broken record and I apologize for that.
Honestly, I just wanted to understand what is happening. It looks like chaos and madness but if you get a view of the board from above you can see the strategy. That there is a method. From that vantage point maybe...maybe...we can steer ourselves out of this.
It is meant to look like chaos to confuse how we react so we make the wrong moves. Texans should be more worried about a lunatic like Sean Moon setting up shop in their home state as Abbott turns the state over to vigilante justice than women and people assisting them to get an abortion. These things align. They are happening for a specific reason. Texas is collapsing into fascism and Moon is prepping and stirring the troops there while Abbott gives the green light for the attacks to begin.
Down this path lies nothing good.
