Icon Social Emotional Learning from My Perspective

There are many SEL programs out there. For several years I used one named Second Step. I thought it was instructive, relevant, and free of any political agenda. I can't imagine reasonable people finding fault with it though some on the right probably would complain that too many minority kids with "funny" names are included in the skits. More importantly, the classroom discussions that the lessons prompted were great opportunities to share different perspectives and present suggestions how kids could more successfully handle the ever increasing social and emotional stress that politics, culture, and especially technology throw at them. Again, this is a SEL curriculum sample size of one. I would be interested in learning if there truly are programs being taught that are perceived to "indoctrinate" kids into a particular political ideology.
