OK, so if Democrats wanted Joe Biden to be able to go after Trump through the justice system and wanted that to be allowed...why would they lobby for legislation to make sure this is not allowed and make it illegal?

This is a Democrat asking to overturn the insane Supreme Court ruling. Not a Republican, not Trump...a Democrat.
Why? If the Democrats and Biden wanted to be able to use the justice system to prosecute a political rival so they could win an election, or even if they wanted Biden to be able to kill Trump and not be prosecuted for it, they would be overjoyed with the powers the Supreme Court just bestowed upon the president...but Biden came out against the decision and so are other Democrats.
