I thought the same thing about Justin Trudeau making the pilgrimage to Mar-a-shit-hole. Heather Cox Richardson had a different take on it though. She said he went there on the offense to school Tangerine Toddler (TT) on what tariffs are and how they work. She also said he wanted to let TT know what bullshit Canada wasn’t going to take from him. She said when Trudeau went home, he met with opposition leaders to game plan scenarios about what TT might try to do and how both sides need to work together for the good of Canada.
The other stuff though, I agree with you, he has a lot of luck combined with money to buy what he wants.
