Scott is right about the absentee ballots being predominately from military right wingers. When I was in the Navy back in '84 a meeting was held to inform all us squids of our rights to vote via absentee ballot. The first class petty officer running the show said "of course we will all be voting for Reagan" to the 20 or so attendees. I objected to his comments, but no one else backed me up.

And if you're not depressed enough already, consider this: Florida has no state income tax. The "lifers" in the military all somehow manage to establish residency in such tax shelters (Texas is quite popular as well), which removes that shred of hope which may have had you thinking "how many can there be from one little old state?"
