You can't equate Europe in 1941 to the mess in Iraq. Hitler was on the move and a legitimate threat to the world. Saddam was largely contained, a threat only to his own people (as sad as that was). Make no mistake about it, this was not a war of necessity! By the end of this weekend, we will have lost 500 people in Iraq (with 2500 wounded). My cousin is a Lt. Colonel in the reserves (on the medical side of things) and she is probably Iraq bound. She tells of so many amputees that the press is not covering. This did not have to happen and, for the life of me, I don't understand how so many Americans are so friggin willing to send their sons and daughters off to die in this misguided war.
