Reg, Thanks for a good thread and maybe the start of something new. Everyone, how about telling what is YOUR player? On mine...Blind Boys of Alabama..."Higher Ground"...Learned about them through HBO's "The Wire." From the album cover it looks like they are mainly three elderly blind black men who sing spirtitual blusey songs, many covers of people like the Rolling Stones, Tom Waits and others. "The Wire" used Tom Waits' "Down in the Hole" on its opening credits. I'm not religious at all but count this as one of the good finds of the year.Jackson Browne's new one.....the name escapes me; something like "The Long Naked Ride Home"....personally, I like his political stuff better...especially his cd "World in Motion"..Gordon Lightfoots "Complete Greatest Hits"......his voice is very relaxing...."Forty Licks" by the Rolling Stones......think they could have included some other songs and left some of these out...."Black Hawk Down" soundtrack....a truly alarming, disturbing and moving cd.....every time I listen to it I think of the sacrifices those 19 men made for all of us and am greatful there are young men in the world who understand honor, integrity and commitment. Let's hear from others.....
