I think I did a poor job writing that stuff and never should have got "love" and "Saddam" together in the same post. That in truth was a rather large mistake on my part.

My real point was just that I think it's difficult for us to get all the information from our media that we need to make an informed judgement on something.

Recently I was watching CNN and I saw a couple guys debating the Bush National Guard stuff. One guy...the one arguing for the right...kept saying stuff about how the Democrats have unfairly played this up (true) and also threw in references to Kerry (false). The guy that was arguing for the left corrected him on the Kerry stuff (true) and tried to say that he didn't think playing it up was was unfair (false because I would say that's a matter of opinion). I felt bad after watching it because I know I had come down on Dale and Kevin about what Kerry had said on the issue (and quoted Kerry). In truth unless Dale and Kevin were really paying attention to what Kerry had been saying how would they know...because you've got guys on tv, radio, wherever that are going to distort the issue. You need a damn scorecard to make sense of things these days and a lot of time to pay attention. If your news intake is the same one or two shows or papers there's a good chance you do not have a clear picture of what's happening.

I'm not sure people have the time to research stuff to get to the bottom of things either. I mean we all have enough to do to get through our day. My bottom line I guess is we seem to have too much commentary and opinion mixed in with what the actual news is. This creates too much distortion.
