Right here, buddy.

And no, I dont really hate Bedtime Stories. I think the songs are pretty good. I do think it's both over and datedly produced, and I can't stand the singer, but I guess that's sort of easy to hear through, and most records do date, after all. And singers are always lame.

Listening on the way to work to "All for You" I just kept wondering ok which one is David he says he was in this one.....or was he kidding...??..I like the mystery :)
Hello Mary is very autobiographical for me.  Scary how close.
Liberty Lies musically and lyrically the best track imo but Stranger was great also. Both of those would work well in movies somewhere

But right now I'm finishing up the first round of songs for a really wonderful film by Steve Oedekerk, an animated musical-ish sort of Joseph Campbell-y heroes voyage Gary Larson sort of thing. (With the voice of my favorite Spaghetti Western star ever) On Monday I start fulltime 7 days a week on a film called "Around The Bend", which stars Michael Caine and Christopher Walken, a both very funny and very devastating film about fatherhood, tragedy, violence, and forgiveness and love. A beautiful film, with the most touching Chris Walken performance since the Deer Hunter. The music will be very open and piano-based, and possibly will include performances by some Kronos vets on cello and viola. Also ostensibly in early June, I'm going to do an acoustic guitar/vocal album with Dean Parks: called "Pentimento One", it will be just me and Dean playing acoustic guitar versions of songs I still believe in and that I over-produced the first time around. I swear I havent retired, I'm just being a dilettante as usual. Also just following "Pentimento One" I'm doing a film with Hans Z., a Gore Verbinski film starring Nicholas Cage called "The Weatherman" So give me a break, man, I'm working on it. It's not like I'm just sitting on my thumbs. I'm also almost finished building the second most most bleeding edge film composition computer system that I've ever seen, which is no picnic, lemme tell you. Plus
So you got the work going. Great. If you want a great getaway that's only about an hour from the house head up to Kingsland (outside of Marble Falls) to a place called "The Antlers Inn".  Great family stay for 1 or 2 nights.

I've been studying music like a 20 year old. So cut a fellow human some slack already. Sheesh!
I only relent when I see new music :)

David

PS, plus, I've been doing my best to unseat the most reckless, incompetent, self-serving political Administration that I've seen in my adult life.
I do agree Bush's comedy on the WOMD was in bad taste. If the shoe were on the other foot and say
Clinton had done it I would be pissed so how can I feel any different about GW saying it.  Honestly David if a more middle of the road Dem I might have consided it but Kerry aint that. Diplomacy aint gonna work with Terrorists nor will police actions.
I know you hate the Fox network but they had Dick Morris on and he made a good analogy that it wont come down to the men but just 2 issues. The war on terror and the economy. Bush will win on Terror and Kerry on the economy. I don't see Kerry winning but I was flabbergasted when he just seem to kill everyone in the primaries. I still say Bush in a landslide.
