I really resent paying $9.50 for a movie and being subjected to a barrage of advertisements before the film begins no matter what they're selling. The exception is previews; I like previews.

The first few times I saw ads in a movie the audience booed loudly (in polite, passive aggressive Seattle no less). The booing seems to have stopped and now everyone sits there like deer in the headlights.

Do bands like the Stones, Queen etc; get paid for these ads? If so they seem to share some of the responsibility for prostituting their art. I remember awhile back the Who's Won't Get fooled again was used to sell Buicks or teeth whitening or something. Ironic.
