I know GM did give you a reply but I thought I'd simplify things a bit by identifying Greenie's "They" in one word...quite simply "They" = Capitalists. That's really what it all comes down to and when the stuff about dumbing down, brainwashing, or sleep walking Americans comes up what they really should say is streamlining (I don't know why but I always liked that word) because it better fits and is on the whole less insulting to the people who may understand what people like Greenie are trying to communicate.

The Christian end of it is pretty simple really. If the majority of Christians ever were to really begin to talk, act, think, and in general behave like followers of Jesus...well, at that point in time they would then cease to serve as a fist for certain segments of our government and would no longer be of any use to them. They could then be identified as radicals because they would not recognize our legislature as the highest power in the land and would pretty much ignore the bozos rather than being worked into a bureaucratic froth over nonsense like same sex marriage, stem cells, where they can post the Ten Commandments and abortion.

These Christians only have value when they assist those in power to achieve their capitalist goals. That is the true religion in this country, Capitalism! If you are not a capitalist you are anti-American.

So it's simple really, Capitalism is a language that is spoken in all First World Countries because generating capital maintains the wealth, maintains a class system, and entertains us with shows like Lifestyles of The Fabulously Wealthy and carpet bombing third world countries. Our government is overrun with lobbyists who have succeeded in getting them to legislate in favor of the mega conglomerates to promote our favorite all-American 'C' word.

It would seem that the first question in a politicians head these days is not "How does this effect the people?" but "How do we profit?"

That's another one of our favorite words isn't it? Profit...damn its sexy...some people probably got a hard-on just reading it. To be a good American you need to live to profit. Not exactly a tenet of Jesus.

Capitalism = Gluttony. Nobody likes a glutton do they? Well, nobody likes a glutton except a capitalist. Capitalism needs...no, no...counts on gluttony. Don't believe me? Think that's an anti-American statement? Let's see, we throw enough food away each day in this nation to feed the starving in several countries. While children all over the world die of starvation daily we have so much food and so many different kinds to choose from we actually have labels for it like "fast food", "comfort food" and my favorite "junk food."

Christ! Junk food! How do you think the mother of a starving child would feel about junk food? Junk food is a Capitalist's wet dream! Capitalists love an obese person. Junk food is brilliant! It's one of our greatest inventions here in the Capitol of Capitalism. It's addictive, abundantly available, it's bad for you, and it's cheap to produce. It creates health problems to generate even more revenue for insurance companies and the health care industry and it's packaged like a Christmas gift to help generate cash flow for all the industries that make the cardboard, plastic, ink, etc...that they wrap it so thoughtfully in. So everybody benefits! People feel no guilt over wasting it and throwing it away because it's junk...we'll just make more! In fact one of these junk food makers even used that in a commercial I think...Eat all you want we'll just make more!

People don't hate Americans because they have freedom and can vote...they hate gluttony. Capitalism promotes gluttony. It creates the more, more, more society. It's not the right to vote that people in Third World countries want they want to feed their kids and we're stocking the shelves of the MegaMart with junk food. Junk food! Just keep saying it and think about that.

I was sitting in a bar one night and one of those commercials with starving kids came on the tv. You know the kind that would have Sally Struthers asking you to sponsor a child. We've all seen the images of horrifically thin children lying on a filthy sheet in the dirt, flies landing on them, the child barely moving...you know what I'm talking about. One of the guys in the bar says "Hey, I shit more than that whole country ate last year!" and everybody laughs. Well, almost everyone. One woman got up and called the guy an asshole and walked out. This only generated more laughter but the thing that struck me was the guy was right. In general most Americans shit more than whole countries eat. That's not the kind of honesty you're going to get out of an American politician.

That is Capitalism...creating a society that shits more than whole countries eat. We're such red blooded Capitalists in this country we can laugh at that. We've streamlined things here though so that when a good American hears the word Capitalism they wave the fucking flag and have a parade.

So, the government works for the mega-conglomerates and a lot of so called Christians work for...well...the Republicans. The whole lot of them worship Capitalism and would drive a Greyhound bus over Jesus and bury the carcass in a landfill full of half eaten twinkies and their petroleum based packaging.

So the thing is if these so called Christians ever decided to get off the bandwagon, like good ol' Rev. Boyd, well they become useless and good Christians...err...I mean Capitalists...umm...no, I mean Christians would turn their back on them like Pat and the thousand or so of Boyd's flock that walked out on him.

See Boyd is now a radical...not because he turned his back on Jesus...he's a radical because he turned his back on Capitalism. Our one true lord and master.
