"Crazy Legs" is the title of the Beck album you seek. It's actually credited as Jeff Beck and The Big Time Playboys. They rip through Gene Vincent's catalog featuring Beck's uncanny recreations of the legendary Cliff Gallup's solo's. Not groundbreaking but one hell of a good listen.
As for 'Rodders' vs.'Robbers' give my vote to Plant. Ol' Rod did good with "Ain't Superstitious" and the previously mentioned early solo albums but has been bloody awful since.
