so...whither America of the future? to oversimplify it to the point where i qualify for Texas citizenship: would i prefer to live with [the risk of] an occasional attack rather than in a 24-hour police surveillance state?

not that anyone in power would elevate it to that given time. terror and an adequately distracted electorate, of course, but still i have these silly little fears. you have some, too, they're just different...as well as not as important as mine.

maybe i'd rather be blown up one day than know that i gave permission to gut and bend Old Ironsides to venal whims. maybe i'd give my life to defend the integrity of the United States Constitution; maybe any proper freedom and democracy-loving real American would.

oaky, maybe that's a bit far-fetched, even for me, but i'm just saying - no more blank checks for these bumbling cretins - of either stripe. they've done enough damage and i have next to no faith in their abilities and discretion. that is all.
