Lots of rain, but not enough. A lot of squabbling between states about who has the rights to water and how they can control the water that passes through a particular state.Right now everything is brown, as it is every year, so it's not as high in people's minds as it will be in 4 or 6 weeks when they would normally start watering their Bermuda grass, roses, and other pretty but useless ornamentation.Meanwhile, forests and wetlands continue to be cleared to put in new subdivisions and office parks, even though no one is buying. Housing prices are going to start dropping dramatically around here. My next door neighbor has had his house on the block for 6 months and it hasn't sold yet, so he's paying 2 mortgages, having already moved. That can't last for long, which means he's going to have to sell for far less than intended.
