I seem to recall that there is also an injunction in that book against trying to predict what many have termed "the end times." Those words seem to get lost in translation, much like the words "judge not . . . " get lost.

I hear these kinds of things all the time: "We are so close to the End Times" and so on. Usually from people who seem like they ought to know better than to go against biblical injunctions.

For the last 2,000 years, every war, every plague, every troubling moment in human history has seemed, to someone, as though it were a signal that the end of days were upon us.

I don't believe that way.
