As I stated above to 405 Peter, to each there own, with one notable exception I failed to mention. That being those who act upon carrying off inquisitions, Jihad's, eugenics and the like "convert or die" scheduled theologies(or just die, as the last). You place your bets, I place mine, and part of mine is in supporting Liberty of Conscience for all but the unacceptably intolerant(of true human liberty) mentioned above.

As to the scriptural reference you mention: there are differing opinions as to the length of time that constitutes a human generation. Some say 40, some say 70, some say longer, some say less. My answer, it shall all be fulfilled, as my first order of business is faith in my risen Lord, and the Words of God that instruct me. There's plenty of stuff we all have faith in, on a daily basis, that we don't understand in full or in part.

Beside that, all I can tell you is what I know. That being, Jesus Christ has done nothing but change my being for the better. I know he lives, that He lives in me, and through me(often despite me). But I have had to admit(with not a little frustration over decades), and to this day(hope springs eternal:) that just as the scripture teaches, that the knowledge of Jesus, is not obtainable(& is beyond belief) to those who reject him(meaning not having faith in his death burial and resurrection). That that faith opens ones eyes, to varying degrees* you surely will not be able to fathom in your reality. Reflected in the scripture about Christians needing to recognize they are "in the world but not of the world" or Jesus' remarks about how we Christians should expect to persecuted(which is a historical fact if one can discriminate between scriptural Christianity and Roman Catholicism)because He was. Admittedly, we've been treated pretty well, the last few hundred years in the US but that is coming to an end.

* (dependent on ones level of faith, even people of faith say "I'll believe this much and no more" whereupon God cuts off his revelation accordingly)

Anyhow, I'm tired and rambling, gotta watch Jean & Lionel, then sleep.

Hope you're well, how's the nephew coming along, is he grounded again, I hope!

peaceably

I would like to meet one day, put a face to the words, and talk about teaching perhaps.
